SSTRM C4I and Sensing Technical Workshop

The third Soldier Systems Technology Roadmap (SSTRM) technical workshop was on “C4I and Sensing.”  It was held on March 9, 10 and 11, 2010 in Montreal, Canada.  We provide below two introductory presentations: one by Mr. Patrick Comtois and one by Captain Olivier Sylvain. We then provide four documents: Volume 1 – the workshop report (September 15, 2010 version), Volume 2 – the slide presentations from day 1, Volume 3 – the presentations from day 2, and Volume 4 – the presentations from day 3. Documents are available at our SSTRM Documents Download Page.

After the workshop, the Technical Sub-Committee for the C4I Technical Domain further refined all the available information and organized it into the following four themes of primary importance to the future soldier (note that the theme numbers follow from the previous Technical Domains):

  • Theme 8: Command & Control
  • Theme 9: Communication
  • Theme 10: Computing
  • Theme 11: Intelligence

Also, the Technical Sub-Committee for the Sensing Technical Domain further refined all the available information and organized it into the following four themes of primary importance to the future soldier:

  • Theme 12: Personal Sensing (body worn)
  • Theme 13: Weapon-Based Sensing
  • Theme 14: Crew-Served and Hand-Held Sensing
  • Theme 15: Unattended Area Sensing (organic, off-board, remote sensing)
